A Bridge (over troubled waters - or not) connecting present and past. Could be something else so cliche as that?

Well, but the result of such expression is not a cliche at all. Neither is a project to be built, but a way to cope with competitions of architecture and express some criticism through and against their rigid rules, posing new options and intrisically argumenting with the "established world of sensible organizations". This project is a very interesting and artistic expression from the russian architecs Brodsky and Utkin, normally considered papers-architects.

Acording to them, a hill with a hole is the favorite motif on the landscape of old painters. This is a town-bridge to the Japan Architect Competition, Tokyo, 1987. The original text that came with the drawing says:

"The town-bridge, thrown acros a river, strait, other town, or simply standing among the fields and forests. It is the town that does not enclose the landscape behind it, being a kind of frame for it. And it is a bridge between the past and the future."

This will be probably my last post before xmas, so I would like to wish nice regards to all my friends, with a peaceful enjoyment of the date.

gostei dessa sua foto.
paisagem gelada, descolorida e melancólica, onde o único ponto de calor é a sua própria figura.
